Q. Who should participate in this program?
A. Parents/caregivers of learners in KS programs, KS alumni and other adults who want to learn more about Hawaiian history, language and cultural practices.
Q. What kinds of skills do I need?
A. All courses will be completely online with an instructor available if there are questions. These are some characteristics of people who do well in online courses:
- Open-minded about sharing experiences
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined
- Have computer with Internet access and feel comfortable using technology
Q. Can my children sign-up?
A. We are asking that all participants who register be 18 years or older. Ideally, it would be great for you as a parent/caregiver to sign-up and share the information with your family.
Q. What types of hardware/software will I need?
A. All courses are completed online. Therefore, you will need a reliable computer with Internet access. Please refer to the Requirements page for more information.
Q. How can I participate?
A. Registration is available online.
Q. Do I have to take the courses in order?
A. No, you can take the courses in any order. The ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i courses do build on each other but each course provides a review of the previous course's content.
Q. How much do the courses cost?
A. All courses have a nominal registration fee of $25.00. Fee waiver is available for those with financial need. If you complete the required activities in a course, you'll be given a $5.00 discount for future course registrations.

A. The $25 registration fee covers course costs but also ensures your commitment to life-long learning and making the most of your experience. |
